A GOOD DOCTOR OR A GOOD HOSPITAL....!!!!

When we are fumed with critics across the wee around us we always end getting wrong suggestion or often we become victims of misleading. people across the city or state have different opinions for different doctors and same for hospitals. A few things today i want to discuss with you all is how , why, and when should you be looking for solutions.

As said earlier it is a bewildered as-semblance of thoughts and suggestions that came my way too while deciding a perfect doctor for my mother. I relied more on outside information rather than practical aspects of treatments. I was new this world of doctors who are known as gods and more often they stand podium of Colosseum watching there accounts fill with money. I swear i hate such doctors. India recently came across various dark artifacts about the doctors there chains and plans to kill with PILLS & BILLS, through a show known as satyamev jayate.

 The episode was completely dedicated to the ill-works and attitudes doctors carry these days.


Finding a right doctor rather than finding a right hospital helps patient to earn is health early than expected.

So how do we find a right doctor for us or our loved once?

Here are some tips that i would like to share with you, which i used to practice often.

During my tenure with hospitals and doctors i learn`t a few things around and which i feel , be shared with every one.

1. Know your decease.

 Many of us rely on the information that we receive from the medical world and often we believe them and there process. I am not asking to simply have disbelief in them but what i want you guys is to apply your own brains. The reason is that when a doctor speaks to you regarding his concerns towards you, you are already aware of few things just because you had had this knowledge of about your pains.

2. Be well informed.

Education is nothing with out application, thats what i feel. And i believe that when you are literate don`t let others take advantage of yourself. There are N number of sites and thousand of information available with the internet where you can generate your information and concerns.

Wikipedia,Google,medicine.net are such website which will help you boost ya knowledge over various aspects of whatever decease you or your loved once have. This in return boosts your confidence toward your know-hows and also gives you an understanding of what you are suffering from and what should be your do`s and don`ts. 

3. Perfect doctor

A perfect doctor always gives a wise decision over treatment rather than giving you 11th hour headaches. Always look for his experience in the field and check his background through various sources. If you are unable avail the information then have a word with people going through his treatments.More often people who are already under his scanners are the best one to give you right suggestions. 

4. Point of view.

Whenever you appoint a doctor make sure you try to understand the treatment from the doctors point of view along with yours. Its necessary for you to know him and what way he is trying to treat the decease. When i started using my net facilities on mobile itself i used to inform my mother well in advance about would be the consequences of the following injections or tablets, because of which she used to be prepared.

5. Humble approach

More often we loose our temper during treatment mess ups. We often criticize the doctors and start disbelieving them. Its necessary to trust them and there ability. If by any means you feel that they are not good enough change your doctor and ask  them to relieve you with proper health or stability. Bursting in emotions doesn`t help.

 6 Second opinion

Always prefer to have a second opinion regarding the problem you face during treatments. Cancer treatments are painful and time consuming, we often loose our patience and do things that we don't need to.Have  a second opinion from a doctor you trust and look out for experienced doctors rather than new comers.

7 Choosing the hospital

Choosing a right hospital doesn't mean that you did a right thing, more then a hospital it is important to have right doctor who can treat you or ya loved once better. There are hospitals which are known for looting the patients with renowned names and battered doctors.

8 Talk to Experts

Thanks to one my of my friends who contributed for the above point which i forgot to mention. Talking to experts was a subject matter of exchanging treatment results or reports with the doctor for me. But to be fair when you struggle in exchanging information from hand to hand, be informed that there are doctors who will definitely reply to your mails. I know its a busy world out there but believe me they do help you out. 

Hope my write up would help you people to know a few things. M a little novice in subject matter but i feel this is the best communication to educate people round the world.

Treatments on Multiple myeloma.

During my tenure with hospital along with my mother , as i have said previously i kept kept on googling the various terms and aspects of this decease known as multiple myeloma, Apart from being shocked of how easily it carries its functions in body without even letting the patient know its presence, multiple myeloma (MM), is a kind of cancer which now a days has become quite treatable. 

I couldn`t have rejoiced much when i  heard Kathy Glusti CEO and founder of MMRF saying that MM is treatable and there are so many advancements that the patients life expectancy has increased more than what it used ti before.

Since MM is quite a cancer to be worried about,but most doctor say that "ITS A GOOD CANCER TO HAVE THAN TO HAVE A DIFFERENT ONE"........... Abnormal statement i know!!

lets see why ?

Myeloma begins when a plasma cell becomes abnormal. The abnormal cell divides to make copies of itself. The new cells divide again and again, making more and more abnormal cells. These abnormal plasma cells are called myeloma cells.

In time, myeloma cells collect in the bone marrow. They may damage the solid part of the bone. When myeloma cells collect in several of your bones, the disease is called "multiple myeloma." This disease may also harm other tissues and organs, such as the kidneys.

Myeloma cells make antibodies called M proteins and other proteins. These proteins can collect in the blood, urine, and organs. Need to know more about multiple myeloma click here.

Types Of Treatments.

 

Induction therapy

Many different types of drugs are used to treat myeloma. People often receive a combination of drugs, and many different combinations are used to treat myeloma.
Each type of drug kills cancer cells in a different way:

• Chemotherapy: Chemotherapy kills fast-growing myeloma cells, but the drug can also harm normal cells that divide rapidly.
• Targeted therapy: Targeted therapies use drugs that block the growth of myeloma cells. The targeted therapy blocks the action of an abnormal protein that stimulates the growth of myeloma cells.
• Steroids: Some steroids have anti tumor effects. It is thought that steroids can trigger the death of myeloma cells. A steroid may be used alone or with other drugs to treat Myeloma.

You may receive the drugs by mouth or through a vein (IV). The treatment usually takes place in an outpatient part of the hospital, at your doctor's office, or at home. Some people may need to stay in the hospital for treatment.
The side effects depend mainly on which drugs are given and how much:

• Blood cells: When a drug used for myeloma treatment lowers the levels of healthy blood cells, you're more likely to get infections, bruise or bleed easily, and feel very weak and tired. Your health care team will check for low levels of blood cells. If your levels are low, your health care team may stop therapy for a while or reduce the dose of drug. There are also medicines that can help your body make new blood cells.
• Cells in hair roots: Chemotherapy may cause hair loss. If you lose your hair, it will grow back, but it may be somewhat different in color and texture.
• Cells that line the digestive tract: Chemotherapy and targeted therapy can cause poor appetite, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, or mouth and lip sores. Ask your health care team about medicines and other ways to help you cope with these problems.

The drugs used for myeloma may also cause dizziness, drowsiness, numbness or tingling in hands or feet, and low blood pressure. Most of these problems go away when treatment ends.

Stem cell transplant
Many people with multiple myeloma may get a stem cell transplant. A stem cell transplant allows you to be treated with high doses of drugs. The high doses destroy both myeloma cells and normal blood cells in the bone marrow. After you receive high-dose treatment, you receive healthy stem cells through a vein. (It's like getting a blood transfusion.) New blood cells develop from the transplanted stem cells. The new blood cells replace the ones that were destroyed by treatment.
Stem cell transplants take place in the hospital. Some people with myeloma have two or more transplants.
Stem cells may come from you or from someone who donates their stem cells to you:

• From you: An autologous stem cell transplant uses your own stem cells. Before you get the high-dose chemotherapy, your stem cells are removed. The cells may be treated to kill any myeloma cells present. Your stem cells are frozen and stored. After you receive high-dose chemotherapy, the stored stem cells are thawed and returned to you.
• From a family member or other donor: An allogeneic stem cell transplant uses healthy stem cells from a donor. Your brother, sister, or parent may be the donor. Sometimes the stem cells come from a donor who isn't related. Doctors use blood tests to be sure the donor's cells match your cells. Allogeneic stem cell transplants are under study for the treatment of multiple myeloma.
• From your identical twin: If you have an identical twin, a syngeneic stem cell transplant uses stem cells from your healthy twin.

There are two ways to get stem cells for people with myeloma. They usually come from the blood (peripheral blood stem cell transplant). Or they can come from the bone marrow (bone marrow transplant).
After a stem cell transplant, you may stay in the hospital for several weeks or months. You'll be at risk for infections because of the large doses of chemotherapy you received. In time, the transplanted stem cells will begin to produce healthy blood cells.

Second opinion
Before starting treatment, you might want a second opinion about your diagnosis and treatment plan. Some people worry that the doctor will be offended if they ask for a second opinion. Usually the opposite is true. Most doctors welcome a second opinion. And many health insurance companies will pay for a second opinion if you or your doctor requests it.
If you get a second opinion, the doctor may agree with your first doctor's diagnosis and treatment plan. Or the second doctor may suggest another approach. Either way, you have more information and perhaps a greater sense of control. You can feel more confident about the decisions you make, knowing that you've looked at your options.
It may take some time and effort to gather your medical records and see another doctor. In most cases, it's not a problem to take several weeks to get a second opinion. The delay in starting treatment usually won't make treatment less effective. To make sure, you should discuss this delay with your doctor. Some people with multiple myeloma need treatment right away.

WHY ANTI-BIOTICS BECOME IMPORTANT TO US DURING TREATMENTS...

We often come along various treatments and at same time we keep on listening to this very Terminology known as "ANTI BIOTIC". It becomes a very familiar to us ,that whenever there is an infection we tend to have anti biotic.


 
But hey Guess what !! Do you even have a glimpse of an idea what exactly is this anti biotic ?

Well most of us end with a conclusion that it kills infection inside or anything that makes us to our mind.

When i first read about anti biotics i came across this astonishing term "Selective poison". Yes indeed its a poison used to kill the bacteria inside us when our immune system fails to cope with it.

An antibiotic is a selective poison. It has been chosen so that it will kill the desired bacteria, but not the cells in your body.

Antibiotics work to kill bacteria. Bacteria are single-cell organisms. If bacteria make it past our immune systems and start reproducing inside our bodies, they cause disease. We want to kill the bacteria to eliminate the disease.
Certain bacteria produce chemicals that damage or disable parts of our bodies. In an ear infection, for example, bacteria have gotten into the inner ear. The body is working to fight the bacteria, but the immune system's natural processes produce inflammation. Inflammation in your ear is painful. So you take an antibiotic to kill the bacteria and eliminate the inflammation.
An antibiotic is a selective poison. It has been chosen so that it will kill the desired bacteria, but not the cells in your body. Each different type of antibiotic affects different bacteria in different ways. For example, an antibiotic might inhibit a bacterium's ability to turn glucose into energy, or its ability to construct its cell wall. When this happens, the bacterium dies instead of reproducing. At the same time, the antibiotic acts only on the bacterium's cell-wall-building mechanism, not on a normal cell's.
Antibiotics do not work on viruses because viruses are not alive. A bacterium is a living, reproducing lifeform. A virus is just a piece of DNA (or RNA). A virus injects its DNA into a living cell and has that cell reproduce more of the viral DNA. With a virus there is nothing to "kill," so antibiotics don't work on it.


 Well that`s how it is and let me tell you that whenever i keep on reading such articles i will keep you all updated. may be i may not know these facts and you already know it, but hey it keeps excited.....!!!!

The Bedside.....

The Bedside is a write up that gives you a real time experience about an endurance and glimpse and ogling over medical up fronts from a patients view who suffers from this very Cancer......

Its cemented and its petrified in my memories when i learnt that mom was suffering from multiple myeloma..   a decease that not many people suffer....!! specially Asians ....!!.its a profound jab and is often found in African and American communities...

For a few words for the decease...i regret to introduce this very decease which doctors say is a cancer with treatment but which also cannot be cured... Yes thats why i said "i regret to introduce".... 

When i learnt about this cancer or MM(multiple myeloma) i was kinda okay, with the name but was also unknown what exactly it means....!! however it means multiple malignancy..caused because of bone marrow dysfunction or A BONE MARROW CANCER...

At the start of the stint i was unaware of medical aspects of human body.. but one factor that started me to know more about the decease was the way it comes into you and still you dont have any damn idea about it.. a backyard junk steal-er.

Multiple myeloma, also known as myeloma, is a hematologic cancer, or cancer of the blood. It is the second most common blood cancer, after non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and represents approximately 1% of all cancers in white individuals and 2% of all cancers in black individuals.

The American Cancer Society estimates that 21,700 new cases of multiple myeloma will be diagnosed in 2012. The number of cases of myeloma reported at a particular time (the prevalence) varies according to gender, age, and race/ethnicity. Multiple myeloma is more common among men than women and occurs more frequently with increasing age.

As with any cancer diagnosis, hearing that you have myeloma can be overwhelming. But new treatments continue to be evaluated in research studies, and substantial improvements in treatment have been made over the past few years. Multiple myeloma cannot be cured, but it can be treated, allowing many individuals to live longer, healthier lives with the disease.

God created man and woman with a purpose , may be explain all odds that its not just an attraction but its something more than himself.... that`s y even god says love is something above him... LOVE AND SCARIFIES ARE ALWAYS AND ALWAYS IMMORTAL.....

This is my favourite scene.... it pleases me and keeps me reminding of my life where i struggled...

This is when chris gets his hard earned job after struggling for six months without salary. He and his son was left alone by his ass hole wife (typical female style) just because he was not able to earn enough even after trying so hard....

His happiness was redefined when he rejoices a small victory of getting a good job which reminds me of something ....... great work chris....

real love by me..................

Real true love is unconditional. All other “kinds” of love are not really love. Most parents and kids don’t love each other, most people in relationships don’t love each other, most people on the planet never experience unconditional love in their entire lives… or at least it sure looks dat way. To love someone unconditionally means dat you love the person exactly as they are, exactly as they were before, and exactly as they will be in the future – because people change all the time, so if you love the person, you will love them even if they become something you disagree with. How many parents can say dat bout their kids? How many people can say dat bout their “lover”? Love is not bout you or your pleasure or your amusement. It’s not bout what you get out of it or what the other person can give to you. It’s not bout having a trophy you can show off with and tell people “Dis is *MY* girlfriend /boyfriend/ wife/ husband/son /daughter /whatever”. You do not “own” anyone. It’s not bout you feeling ‘proud’ to be with someone who always agrees with everything you say and do and never does anything you disagree with. Unconditional love means dat the person can just live their life exactly as they choose and you will always be there for them no matter what.

So, how does unconditional love fit in with relationships and marriage and sex and all dat stuff the whole world keeps going crazy over? It doesn’t, really. It doesn’t “fit” in anywhere. Relationships are like trying to put love into a box and keep it there, except love is infinitely sized, and the box is… well, there is no box large enough. And a normal, conventional marriage is quite possibly the worst possible way to show someone how much you love them.

Unconditional love is more of a spiritual thing. It’s not bound by physical things, like blood relations and the desire to procreate. It has nothing whatsoever to do with sex. Most people are in relationships because they’re horny and/or lonely, even if they genuinely think they love the other person. But if the person they “love” suddenly lost their “equipment” for whatever reason, would they still want to be with dat person? Would they get jealous if the person they “love” wanted to spend time with other people as well? Relationships based on needs are not unconditional.

In order to truly understand love, you must first forget everything you have ever learned bout it from society and anyone else (including what I just said). You are the only person who can tell you what love is. The only reason I’m writing all dis stuff is because people always try to fit “love” in with things like dating, relationships and marriage and all dat. You can’t make any sense of it if you keep doing dat. You have to get rid of everything you think you know first.
